EMPOWERING CAREGIVERS WITH SKILLS FOR INCOME GENERATION AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP IN LIQUID SOAP MAKING
Caregivers and staff of First Step were trained by JOJO Shaahu foundation on liquid soap making, shampoo, bleach, body cream and perfume. The purpose is to improve entrepreneurial and business skills of caregivers to increase opportunities for alternative livelihood skills and opportunities. Safety precautions were explained in greater details; this is because it involves the use of chemicals. They were taught the step by step processes of making 5 items. A step down training was done for other caregivers in 5 communities using Village Savings and Loan Association groups as an entry point.
