REPORT ON FREE MEDICAL OUTREACH FOR THE LESS PRIVILEGED CHILDREN AND THEIR CAREGIVERS ACROSS BENUE AND NASARAWA STATES.

In the months of June and July 2020, Global Initiative for Peace, Love, and Care (GIPLC) a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) in collaboration with First Step Action for Children embarked on a medical outreach across Benue and Nasarawa states aimed at providing health care to the less privileged children and their caregivers.

In the months of June and July 2020, Global Initiative for Peace, Love, and Care (GIPLC) a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) in collaboration with First Step Action for Children embarked on a medical outreach across Benue and Nasarawa states aimed at providing health care to the less privileged children and their caregivers. The beneficiaries also included persons living with disabilities to ensure wider coverage of vulnerable groups were captured in the program. The purpose is to improve the well being of children and ensure they survive, grow, and develop. A total of 98 persons benefitted from the free medical outreach program covered the 3 senatorial zones A, B and C in Benue State and Obi LGA in Nasarawa state. The services covered various surgeries which included hernia, hydroceles, appendicitis, cesarean section operation, screening for malaria and treatment, deworming, and other medical issues.

The program was implemented in collaboration with medical health facilities across the implementation sites.

To promote the recognition and acceptance of the rights of women and children and ensure that children have the best possible prospects for survival, growth, development, protection and participation.
